Things to Love Family Sharing

Things to Love Family Sharing - QuickTech.in

Family Sharing simplifies the way families manage Apple IDs and iCloud accounts. It makes it easy for up to six family members to share what they want to — and keep separate what they don’t.

Discover five things to love about Family Sharing and bring them up during your conversations with parents.

Setup is simple. Parents just go to Settings, tap their name and choose Set Up Family Sharing. As the organiser, they select the features the family will share and can invite up to five family members to join. Once family members accept, Family Sharing is set up on everyone’s devices automatically.

Purchases are shared across everyone’s devices. Everyone’s music, films, TV programmes, books and apps are immediately available to everyone else in the group. The organiser covers the cost of everything new, but with Ask to Buy, they can review a child’s purchase before it’s made, and approve or decline it right from their own device.

Children under 13 can have an account, too. As a parent or legal guardian, organisers can create child Apple IDs and add them to the family group. This also allows children to use other Apple services such as iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime with their own account — meaning they can’t accidentally send an Animoji to a parent’s boss.

You can keep track of everyone and everything. Customers can share locations and find each other’s lost devices with the Find My app. Plus, they get a shared photo album, shared calendar and shared reminders list automatically.

There’s a whole world of content for the whole family. Only with Family Sharing can customers share subscriptions to services like Apple Music, Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade. Each family member gets a private account with personal recommendations.
